Vytautas Petras VÄ—bra was born in a farmers’ family in Buivydžiai village, PandÄ—lys rural district, RokiÅ¡kis county. From 1932 to 1936, Vytautas Petras went to a primary school in PandÄ—lys. He continued his education at RokiÅ¡kis progymnasium and then at RokiÅ¡kis gymnasium of Canon Tumas-Vaižgantas, which he finished in spring 1943. In 1944, Vytautas Petras became a student at the Pharmacology Department of the Medical Faculty of ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ. A year later he asked to be transferred to finance and credit studies at the Faculty of Economics, but his studies were disrupted by exile: in 1949, during the mass deportation operation ‘The Surf’, he was deported to Irkutsk region. In 1959, he wrote to ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ asking for his documents as he intended studying in Irkutsk. He returned to Lithuania in 1964.
