Regina Kuizinait臈-Karbauskien臈
Regina Kuizinait臈-Karbauskien臈 (1924鈥�2013) was born in the village of Dry啪ai, 艩ilal臈 Rural District, into a family of farmers. In 1943, she graduated from 艩ilal臈 Gymnasium. From 1943 to 1944, Kuizinait臈-Karbauskien臈 worked as a junior accountant at the 艩ilal臈 Agricultural Cooperative Office, and in 1945, she was employed at the 艩ilal臈 Rural District Tax Inspection Office. That same year, she applied to study at the Biology Department of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Vilnius State University and was admitted. However, in 1948, she was expelled by the Order of the Rector on the grounds of 鈥渇ailing to report to work.鈥� According to the database 鈥淟ithuanians in Siberia鈥�, Kuizinait臈-Karbauskien臈 was deported to Krasnoyarsk in 1948 and returned on 30 June 1956. After receiving permission, her parents and sisters were exiled to the Irkutsk Region, where she relocated around 1950.
